Air Transat is reducing its U.S. network for the 2026-27 winter season, cancelling planned flights from both Montreal and Halifax to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to a report from AeroRoutes.
According to the airline’s latest schedule update, the Montreal (YUL)–Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood (FLL) route will no longer launch as planned.
The service had been scheduled to begin on Nov. 16, 2026, operating five times weekly with the Airbus A321neo before increasing to six weekly flights from Dec. 14 and daily service from Feb. 15, 2027.
The airline has also cancelled its planned once-weekly Halifax (YHZ)–Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood service, which was due to begin on Dec. 16, 2026 using an Airbus A321.
Following the changes, Air Transat’s only scheduled U.S. route for the 2026-27 winter season will be its Quebec City–Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood service.
The route is scheduled to operate three times weekly beginning Dec. 15, 2026 using Airbus A321ceo and A321neo aircraft, AeroRoutes reports.
The latest schedule revision further reduces Air Transat’s U.S. footprint, which was already small, as demand for cross-border travel continues to soften amid ongoing political and trade tensions between Canada and the United States.
Air Transat has not publicly commented on the reason for the schedule changes.
Earlier, PAX contacted the airline, seeking additional details, after travel advisors began sharing feedback about the Florida cancellations on social media.
The changes are generating particular concern among advisors with clients booked on Florida cruise departures this winter.
Whether Air Transat will use its codeshare agreement with Porter Airlines to mitigate the impact of the cancelled U.S. routes remains unclear.
