As far as capacity goes, Crowbar is one of many small indie venues across the U.S. where homegrown acts can cut their teeth as openers and headliners on local bills—and then pack the room on sold-out national tours.
Leon Majcen (say it, “might-zin”) is the perfect example of that arc.
After finding his sound as he emerged from St. Pete College, the Czech-born songwriter is now based in Nashville where he’s a rising star of country music, with glowing write ups in Rolling Stone and slots opening for the likes of Kip Moore, Paul Cauthen and Margo Price.
Living on the road, the 27-year-old—now backed by a full band—has spent the last three years checking things off his bucket list, like headlining Denver’s scenic Old Saloon. This is Tampa’s last chance to head to Crowbar and leave saying they saw an artist back when.
