Largo launches Vision 2030 Strategic Plan
LARGO — The City Commission officially adopted the Vision 2030 Strategic Plan at its regular meeting on Oct. 7, marking the beginning of a new chapter in long-range planning, community partnership, and service delivery for the city.
The new plan builds on the success of previous strategic efforts, including the 2017 Strategic Plan and the 2015 Future Focus Action Plan, and responds to the changing needs of the Largo community.
“This plan reflects who we are as an organization and who we want to be for the community,” City Manager John Curp said in a press release. “Vision 2030 sets clear goals that are both ambitious and grounded in what our residents told us they value most.”
The plan is rooted in comments and ideas from residents, business owners and city team members over the last two years.
The plan will be used to set organizational priorities that guide department and team member decision-making. It also allows the budgeting process and resource planning to ensure strategic goals are supported and achievable.
The plan will also be supported by a new public-facing dashboard, expected to launch in 2026. The dashboard will help residents and stakeholders track progress across all focus areas and stay connected with the city’s long-term goals.
Residents can read the full plan and explore focus areas at Largo.com/StrategicPlan.
Commissioners honor public safety, community awareness

Chief Mike Loux presented each officer’s biography before Assistant City Attorney Sarah Johnston administered the official oath of office.
The commission proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month to bring awareness to the pervasive effects of domestic violence in society. The proclamation reaffirmed Largo’s commitment to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and promoting prevention.
