Near-record heat persists for parts of Central Florida
ORLANDO, Fla. —
Hot and dry conditions persist on Thursday.
Temperatures are expected to reach near-record highs of around 97 degrees in the metro area.
Rain chances are forecast to increase over the next few days, returning to normal levels and possibly exceeding them over the weekend, which could help lower temperatures.
The tropics remain quiet, except for Tropical Storm Bertha, which is moving toward Texas and is expected to bring a significant rain event to the area.
