Cape Coral traffic stop leads to K9 finding almost 100 grams of meth in woman’s car, police say
CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
A woman was arrested after officers with the Cape Coral Police Department say a traffic stop led them to find almost 100 grams of methamphetamine in her car.
According to a news release, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3400 block of Del Prado Boulevard South after they saw the car committing traffic infractions.
During the stop, a K9 officer and the dog, named Venom, arrived at the scene of the stop. While sniffing around the vehicle, Venom alerted to the possible presence of narcotics.
A search of the car revealed a backpack holding four bags filled with a crystal-like substance, according to CCPD. Tests showed the substance to be methamphetamine, officers say. In total, the weight of the methamphetamine was 97.8 grams.
Officers arrested the driver of the vehicle, Tara Michele Flore, 29, and faces a trafficking in methamphetamine over 14 grams charge.
