Convenience store walk turns violent as two armed men rob $300 from Fort Pierce man

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — A man walking to a convenience store in Fort Pierce was robbed at gunpoint of about $300 Tuesday morning, leading to the arrest of two 28-year-old suspects, police said.

The Fort Pierce Police Department said its officers responded around 9 a.m. July 21 near 3200 Kentucky Avenue after receiving reports of an armed robbery.

According to police, the victim was walking to a nearby convenience store when he was approached by two armed men. Investigators said the suspects assaulted the victim and stole approximately $330 in cash before fleeing in a black Kia sedan.

During the investigation, the victim identified one of the suspects, which helped officers locate both men. Police said the victim later positively identified both men as being involved in the robbery.

The suspects were identified as Johnathan Tucker, 28, and Kenderrious Patterson, 28. Both were arrested and transported to the St. Lucie County Jail.

The victim suffered minor scrapes during the incident, according to police.
