Deputies have an active felony warrant for George V. Kilgore III, 44, who is accused of possessing and discharging a firearm in public.
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who allegedly shot into his family’s car in Port Charlotte and fled the area on Wednesday.
Investigators say there was a domestic dispute between George V. Kilgore III, 44, and his family. After the dispute, he shot into a car parked at the residence on Cape Terrace Northwest in Port Charlotte.

No one was reported to be shot, deputies said.
The Major Crimes Unit responded to a call of gunshots and conducted an investigation. The unit established probable cause for his arrest as he is a previously convicted felon with possession of a firearm and discharging a firearm in public or on residential property.
“At this time, Kilgore has not been located. The firearm that Kilgore allegedly used during the incident has been recovered from the residence during the execution of a search warrant,” the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook.
There is an active felony warrant for Kilgore’s arrest. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office asks for anyone who has seen him or has information about his whereabouts to call 941-639-2101.
