Archbishop Thomas Wenski of the Archdiocese of Miami offered a blessing of the first humanitarian shipment of solar lanterns for the people of Cuba.
The Gazitua family and WTDC welcomed Archbishop Thomas Wenski of the Archdiocese of Miami for a special visit and blessing of the first humanitarian shipment of solar lanterns for the people of Cuba.
WTDC has been selected by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami Inc. as the official warehousing partner for humanitarian aid shipments to Cuba.
During his visit, Archbishop Wenski blessed the shipment, offered prayers for WTDC employees, and blessed the company’s facilities and the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
“It is a great honor for the Gazitua family and WTDC to support Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami in this humanitarian mission to Cuba,” said Sean Gazitua, president and CEO of WTDC. “This is more than a logistics project. It is a ministry of faith, service, and hope for those in need.”
The visit shows a long-standing friendship and common mission among the Gazitua family, Archbishop Wenski, and the Archdiocese of Miami. They have worked together on humanitarian efforts in Cuba and taken part in significant events in the life of the Church, including the Papal Masses of Pope Benedict XVI in Santiago de Cuba and Pope Francis in Havana, as well as the 500th Anniversary celebration of the founding of Havana.
The Gazitua Family and WTDC remain dedicated to faith, humanitarian service, and providing hope and assistance to communities in need.
