Miami man accused of stealing $60,000 in boat equipment across Martin County
MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. —
A Miami man is facing more than 20 felony charges after deputies say he stole thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment from boats across Martin County.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said 29-year-old Robert Esposito was arrested following a monthlong investigation into a series of boat burglaries reported throughout July.

Miami man accused of stealing $60,000 in boat equipment across Martin County

According to investigators, Esposito targeted boats from Stuart to Hobe Sound and stole GPS navigation units. Deputies estimate the value of the stolen equipment at about $60,000.
The sheriff’s office said the thefts affected multiple boat owners across the county and prompted an extensive investigation to identify the suspect.
Esposito is now charged with multiple offenses, including grand theft. Additional details about the case and his court appearance were not immediately released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
