JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — On July 23rd, an officer with the Jacksonville Police Department (JPD) was patrolling the area of Williamsburg Parkway near Western Boulevard when he noticed three individuals wearing dark colored hoodies pulled over their heads and one individual wearing a ski mask.

After being informed of recent vehicle break-ins and dumped stolen vehicles around the area,
the officer attempted to speak with the individuals, but they fled on foot.

After a foot pursuit, all three individuals were apprehended. It was discovered that one of the
individuals was 19-year-old Jordan Lewis of Jacksonville who was in the possession of a
concealed firearm and later found to have five felony warrants to include Breaking and Entering.

Lewis was charged with resisting public officer, carrying concealed gun, 2 counts contributing to the deliquency of a juvenile, and 5 counts warrant service.

The other two individuals were juveniles who have since been released to their parents.

This is an ongoing investigation. Officers are currently taking reports of vehicle break-ins. If you

JPD recommends everyone to follow the 9 PM rule: lock your doors, remove valuables, close your garage, and turn on exterior lights to deter theft. If you observe suspicious behavior in or around your home, call JPD immediately at 910-455-4000 and provide as much information as you are able.
