ORLANDO, Fla. – A 29-year-old male construction worker fell roughly 20 feet Thursday morning at the Roth Tower construction site on the University of Central Florida campus, according to the Seminole County Fire Department.
The call came in at 10:19 a.m. The first fire unit arrived on scene at 10:22 a.m. — three minutes later.
Crews transported the worker to a hospital on a trauma alert. He was conscious at the time of transport, and officials said his fall was partially broken by drywall and mesh material at the site.
About the Roth Tower project
The Roth Tower is a major expansion project at FBC Mortgage Stadium on the UCF campus, slated for completion in Fall 2026. UCF broke ground on the project in December 2024.
The $90 million project — funded in part through Orange County Tourist Development Tax dollars — will add four levels to the stadium’s existing tower, including 28 luxury suites, 34 outdoor sky suites, loge seating, and a significant expansion of club space. When complete, the tower will increase usable club space by 256%.
