WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — National Waterpark Day is coming up, marking the unofficial kickoff to Orlando’s staycation season and some of the year’s best rates.
1. That include places like The Grove Resort and Waterpark in Winter Garden. As families prepare to head back to school, many Orlando-area hotels shift their focus to the local market by introducing Florida resident deals and staycation packages. This also encourages folks to shake up their routine and try new attractions! “We’ve got a kids’ splash pad and a huge main pool,” Director of Operations Farrah Falcon showed Spectrum News 13 during a visit. “(We have a) surf simulator for those thrill enthusiasts who love to wipe out — or maybe you don’t! We have something for everyone, which I think sets us apart.”
3. That includes poolside beverages for adults and a food menu fit for the whole family.
4. After a day in the sun, families can head back to the 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom condo-style suites, which are unlike traditional hotel rooms.
5. National Waterpark Day is Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Central Florida has more than 20 waterparks — ranging from huge theme park ones to private resort amenities.
