DELTONA, Fla. (WFLA) — Video shows a man being arrested on Thursday after he fled a traffic stop in Deltona and tried to hide from a K-9 in the woods, according to authorities.
The Volusia Sheriff’s Office said Donnie Williams, 29, fled from an attempted traffic stop before fleeing through the city, but an air unit was tracking him overhead.

He was located in the thick brush, where K-9 Benny bit him before deputies placed him in handcuffs.
“I love you, bae,” Williams yelled to his phone as deputies dragged him out of his hiding spot.

VSO said he tossed a backpack while fleeing, which revealed a loaded handgun, 203 grams of methamphetamine, 17 grams of fentanyl and seven grams of crack cocaine.
“I ain’t been doing nothing violent, bro,” Williams told deputies.

Williams has been to prison twice for a total of eight years and was last released in 2024, according to VSO. His criminal history includes 17 felony arrests with six convictions.
He is in the Volusia County Jail with no bond on armed drug trafficking charges.
