A construction worker was injured Friday after falling around 20 feet at the University of Central Florida’s football stadium, officials say.
Paramedics responded around 10:20 a.m. to the stadium, the Acrisure Bounce House, after receiving a call about a 29-year-old worker who had fallen. The man remained conscious after his fall, which was broken by drywall and mesh material, the Seminole County Fire Department said Friday afternoon.
The worker was transported to a local hospital, the department said. Specifics about his injuries, current condition and what led to the fall weren’t mentioned.
“We are aware of an incident that took place on the UCF West Tower jobsite earlier today. We have secured the site and are currently investigating the matter,” said Neal Morton, senior vice president of safety and risk management, at the Barton Malow construction company.
UCF did not immediately respond to questions about the accident.
