Friday Night Hits Preview: Olympia High School
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
Olympia High School is looking to get back on track this season following a 3-7 record.
Head coach Travis Gabriel says a balanced schedule will give the Titans room to grow and compete this season, adding they are ready to embrace the challenge.
“What we have to do is just take it every week, the same thing: just go out there and work hard and let the scoreboard speak for itself,” Gabriel says.
The Olympia High School community will also be reeling from the news of esteemed alumni Chris Johnson’s ALS diagnosis. Gabriel says this year, the Titans have additional motivation.
“Our kids understand, for the whole season, we’re fighting with five (Johnson’s retired number) and we’re playing every down, every quarter, for him,” Gabriel said.
The Titans also have other tributes planned in the future.
