DELTONA, Fla. (CBS12) — A 5-year-old witnessed a terrifying ordeal after a Florida man wearing a bandana entered a barbershop with a rifle, pistol-whipped a barber and fought with another before fleeing the scene Thursday morning.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, identified as Christopher Boone, entered the shop carrying a long-barreled revolver wrapped with red tape and pointed it at the barbers. Deputies said Boone demanded cash before pistol-whipping one barber in the head.
Deputies said another barber rushed Boone in an attempt to wrestle the gun away. During the struggle, Boone struck that barber in the head with the firearm before fleeing the scene.

Both barbers suffered large lacerations to their heads and were treated at the scene.
Deputies said the barbers were able to identify Boone despite him covering his face because he was a regular customer at the shop.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said deputies later found the firearm used in the robbery in a wooded area about 350 feet from the barbershop.
Boone was located outside his residence on Beal Street, where deputies took him into custody.
Boone faces charges including robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault, child abuse, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violation of probation.
