Florida’s Turnpike northbound, southbound lanes in PBC to close overnight
The stretch is between Jog Road and Okeechobee Boulevard for lane widening.
A portion of Florida’s Turnpike northbound lanes in Palm Beach County again will be closed nightly, starting at 8 p.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. Wednesday. Also, southbound lanes will close starting Tuesday, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The full northbound closure will go from State Road 91 between Jog Road (Exit 98) and Okeechobee Boulevard/S.R. 704 (Exit 99) for construction.
For the past two weeks, the same portion was closed between Sunday night and Friday morning.
This time, southbound lanes will close two nights, starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday through 6 a.m. Friday.
Northbound drivers wishing to continue north will be directed to exit at Jog Road (Exit 98), travel north on Jog Road to Okeechobee Boulevard and go east on Okeechobee Boulevard to access northbound Florida’s Turnpike.
Southbound drivers will be directed to exit at Okeechobee Boulevard/S.R. 704 (Exit 99), travel west on Okeechobee Boulevard to Jog Road, and travel south on Jog Road to access southbound Florida’s Turnpike.

DOT said this schedule may change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
This work is part of the Florida’s Turnpike widening project from north of Southern Boulevard to north of Okeechobee Boulevard. This project, with an estimated cost of up to $262 million, is scheduled to be completed in 2030.

The West Palm Beach Service Plaza also is undergoing a $32.4 million upgrade to expand truck and personal vehicle parking, improve traffic circulation, and widen the northbound mainline lanes. Construction is scheduled to be completed early next year.
Another project to be finished by late this year is widening to four lanes in each direction from Boynton Beach Boulevard to Lake Worth Road. A 2-mile stretch of L-38 Canal, just north of Clint Moore Road, to Atlantic Avenue is scheduled to be completed from six lanes to eight lanes with three general travel lanes and one auxiliary lane in each direction. Auxiliary lanes will be separated from general-purpose toll lanes by a buffer delineated with two 6-inch solid lines as part of this $30.8 million project.
Plans are for a 3.4-mile stretch from Glades Road to L-38 Canal from six to eight general-use lanes plus auxiliary ones as a $100 million-plus project. Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise has partnered with Palm Beach County engineering and public works to widen Yamato Road from west of Lakeridge Boulevard to west of Florida’s Turnpike from four to six lanes.
In addition, there are plans to increase from six to eight general-use lanes plus auxiliary lanes from L-38 Canal to Atlantic Avenue.
