Key Biscayne police arrested Raymond Anthony Delgado of Hialeah on Thursday, July 23, at a Miami Gardens probation office, more than six months after he allegedly stole packages UPS had delivered to an apartment building in Key Biscayne, according to court records.
The 32-year-old, who has a prior felony record, is accused of stealing packages valued at nearly $6,850 while he was out on probation for another theft, a third-degree felony, until March 8, 2028, according to court records.
Delgado now faces three new felony charges: burglary of an occupied dwelling, third-degree grand theft and unlawful use of a communication device. His bond was set at $15,000 — $7,500 for the burglary charge, $5,000 for grand theft and $2,500 for the communication device charge. He entered a plea of not guilty.
His bond review hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 27, at 9 a.m. at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building.
According to court documents, Delgado has been arrested 11 times and faced 25 charges, ranging from another grand theft charge in 2015 (dismissed after completing pre-trial intervention); cannabis possession in 2018 (nolle prosequi, meaning prosecutors dismissed the case); and domestic battery in 2023 (no action taken).
Surveillance video shows Delgado tracking a UPS delivery truck with his phone on June 18, according to a police officer’s arrest report obtained by WPLG Local 10 News.
That report also stated Delgado walked into the apartment building lobby and told an employee he was authorized to retrieve packages.
Key Biscayne police arrested Delgado at 12:15 p.m. Thursday at the Florida Department of Corrections Probation Parole Services facility, at 3601 NW 167th St., in Miami Gardens, according to Local 10 News.
Delgado faces burglary, grand theft, and communication device charges after a months-long investigation into stolen deliveries.
