TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Tampa USPS employee has pleaded guilty to stealing mail while on the clock.

According to the Department of Justice for the Middle District of Florida, Alexandria Bullock, 46, began working for the U.S. Postal Service in April 2019.

Authorities said Bullock knowingly and unlawfully embezzled items of mail while on her mail route, including checks payable to individuals, charities, and legal entities.

Bullock would then change the payee line of the stolen checks to her own name and deposit them into her bank account, the DOJ said.

Authorities announced Monday that Bullock pleaded guilty to theft by a postal employee. She faces a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison.
