DIXIE COUNTY, Fla. — Camp Amigo marked a major milestone last week in Dixie County, celebrating 25 years of bringing together young burn survivors for a week of activities, friendship and fun.

Founded in 2001 by Tallahassee firefighters Rusty Roberts and Troy Anzalone, the camp has continued with support from volunteers over the years, including many members of the Tallahassee Fire Department.

This year also brought another turning point for the camp, as its first generation of burn survivor alumni moved into leadership roles, helping guide Camp Amigo into its next chapter.

Organizers also thanked members who help make Camp Amigo possible each year.
