The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning about the dangers that extreme heat can pose to pregnant women and their unborn babies.
Dr. Christine Greves, an Orlando Health obstetrician-gynecologist, explained why conditions like prolonged heat exposure are a concern during pregnancy.
She also highlighted warning signs that expecting mothers should watch for in hot weather.
Dr. Greves emphasized the importance of planning ahead, prioritizing themselves and their baby, and seeking medical attention.
To stay safe, Dr. Greves recommended several steps for pregnant women, including staying hydrated and taking breaks in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible.
