Orlando International Airport (MCO) revealed renovations in the works for Terminals A, B, and airsides. These improvements are part of phased changes to the airport, including an upcoming atrium update.
MCO North Terminal Renovations
Following the “People” pillar, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) is moving forward with plans to renovate the interiors at Airsides 1 and 3 along with the interior renovation of Levels 2 and 3 at Terminals A and B. GOAA is “committed to enhancing the look and feel of Orlando International Airport (MCO) into the next decade.”
In the spirit of major renovations to the landside Terminals A and B in 2018 and the completion of Terminal C in 2022, GOAA’s goal now is to bring the remaining facilities up to those elevated standards.
The scope will include additional seating, new flooring, new wall finishes, and modernized ceilings with lighting improvements.
Here’s the projected timeline for the airside work:
Anticipated Design Start: 2026
Anticipated Construction Start: 2027
Anticipated Substantial Completion: 2030
Restrooms at all four Airsides of the A and B Terminals will also be renovated and expanded, increasing capacity to help meet the needs of MCO’s growing number of travelers and meeting the standard set by Terminal C.
Here’s the projected timeline for the restroom work:
Design Start: September 2025
Construction Start: Winter 2026
Substantial Completion: 2029
The cost of the project is approximately $351 million.
