TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Rickards Raiders were 3-8 last year, but heading into this season, head coach Quintin Lewis is feeling really good about this squad.
He said they have a good nucleus of kids back, guys that have been here. That’s most apparent on offense with quarterback Jordan Kelley and receiver Davion Crumitie leading the way. He said they’ve retooled their offensive line, and he’s excited to utilize their run game more.
This is a group that saw games pull away late last season, coach noting with his defense a year older. They know the game better, and he’s expecting big things.
“They’ve been able to overcome adversity all offseason and all summer. In games, I’m excited to see how they act when they get hit in the mouth,” said Lewis. “It’s going to be a good season for us. I just hope we can stay healthy and keep everything going. We have a couple additions that kind of mixed in and blended in as soon as they got here, guys that should have been here from day one, it’s really looking good for us right now.”
Rickards takes on rival Godby August 21st to open the regular season.
