ST. PETERSBURG, FL — July 27, 2026 — Florida-based actor Russell Bradley Fenton (“The Moonlight Murders,” “Manhunt,” “Secrets in the Snow,” “The Snowball Effect”) stars as Captain John Corby in the independent feature film “Loyalists,” which makes its exclusive, invitation-only industry screening at Green Light Cinema in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, August 5.

LOGLINE:
At the height of the Revolutionary War, four American soldiers escape captivity and flee into the forest, setting in motion a chain of events that forces each of them to examine what they truly fight for.

Timed to the 250th anniversary of the United States, “Loyalists” offers a rare perspective on the Revolutionary War through a character-driven story that explores loyalty, survival, and moral conflict.

Although filmed on location in Massachusetts for authentic 18th-century locations, the production was helmed by St. Petersburg–based Timecode Productions, featuring a cast and crew deeply rooted in the Tampa Bay arts community.

Produced for under $1 million and captured in just 12 intense filming days, “Loyalists” is currently seeking distribution. Directed and written by New Hampshire filmmaker Philip Kreyche, the story follows four Continental Army soldiers who escape a Revolutionary War prisoner-of-war camp and encounter a Loyalist woman, Ruth Billingsley (played by NYC actor Jane West).

Fenton anchors the ensemble narrative as Captain John Corby, delivering a grounded, emotionally charged performance that explores human morality during wartime. Fenton is joined by fellow Florida-based actor Jerome Bowers (as Enoch Fletcher) and local St. Pete stage actor Andrew Deeb (making his film debut as Alexander McKee), alongside NYC stage actor Kolter Erickson (also making his film debut as James Sidney).

“Playing Captain Corby in a raw human survival story that stripped away the mythos of the Revolutionary War was quite a journey,” said lead actor Russell Bradley Fenton. “Working side-by-side with an exceptionally tight-knit Florida crew and cast, who created an amazing world within a tight 12-day shoot, made this project really special. I’m excited to share this work at the Green Light in St. Pete, the perfect venue for our local industry peers and community.”

FLORIDA CREW AND HISTORICAL AUTHENTICITY:
The project brought significant Tampa Bay talent up to New England, including St. Pete Producers Dominic Medina and Sean Simpson, Director of Photography Stephen McKendree, Sound Mixer Stephen Bowman, and Co-Producer Monique McLaughlin (who also serves as a board member for Women in Film and Television – Tampa Bay Branch).

To capture authentic Revolutionary War aesthetics, production filmed at the historic William Haskell House in Gloucester, MA—a 1680s First Period Colonial home where some members of the cast and crew also stayed during production. Authentic period armorers, local New England historical reenactors, and period-accurate Continental and British military gear were utilized to maintain historical integrity.

A RARE LOCAL CONNECTION TO REVOLUTIONARY HISTORY:
While “Loyalists” explores the human complexities on both sides of the Revolutionary War, the film holds a unique resonance for Sunshine State audiences. In 1776, East Florida and West Florida were British colonies that remained loyal to the Crown—serving as a primary refuge for Loyalists fleeing the war in the north. The film’s themes directly parallel Florida’s often-overlooked history as a Loyalist stronghold during the nation’s founding era.
