TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A trial date has been set for a Tallahassee man accused of abusing and killing his step-daughter.
Daniel Spencer is accused of beating and smothering five-year-old Missy Mogle at the family’s Southwood home earlier this year.
Spencer was supposed to stand trial on November 10, but, according to court records, revealed that his defense attorney filed a request to continue the case.

At a Wednesday hearing, the judge set a trial date of June 22, 2026.
The child’s mother, Chloe Spencer, is also facing murder charges in Missy’s death.
