GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – CDC officials have reported 264 total cases of cyclosporiasis in Florida, up by nearly 100 cases in a week.
Of these 264 cases, four are from Alachua County, one from Columbia County, and three from Marion County.
The outbreak is linked to contaminated water and food, such as fruits and vegetables.
Researchers say more than 18,000 cases have been reported nationwide.
