ORLANDO, Fla. — It’s almost time to nosh, sip, and “taste” — with a purpose.
“Taste! Central Florida” brings together local top chefs and restaurants for an evening of dining, cocktails, live entertainment and a mission to combat hunger in our community.
It’s now in its 37th year, and nearly half of the 70 participating restaurants are locally owned.
“There are hundreds and hundreds of a variety of small plates to choose from,” said Taste! co-chair Nicole Spooner. “It’s a great date night. It’s a great night out with the girls.” They also have nearly 50 beverage vendors to elevate the festivities.
Since Taste!’s inception, they say they’ve donated nearly $5 million to Second Harvest Food Bank and the Coalition for the Homeless. That’s nearly 20 million meals served to local children and their families who need the extra help.
The big event is Friday, Aug. 28, at the Orlando World Center Marriott.
