TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man was sentenced to two years in federal prison for threatening President Donald Trump and other government officials, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Diego Villavicencio, 36,was sentenced for two counts of sending interstate threats, one count of impeding or retaliating against a federal official and one count of threats against the President.
According to court documents, Villavicencio made threats on social media over the span of several months.
One post was directed at former Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, saying he would “be shot and killed September 23,” court documents show.

Another threat made on his X account was directed at former U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell. Villavicencio also sent a threatening direct message to Swalwell, according to court records.
Several months later, court documents show Villavicencio posted to 4chan, an anonymous imageboard site, saying he would drive to Mar-a-Lago “to take a couple of shots at Trump and some of the other corrupt plutocrats.”
Villavicencio’s two year sentence will be followed by three years of supervised release, with the first year on home detention, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Conditions of his supervision include a mental health evaluation and treatment, as well as submitting to computer monitoring.
