Crews have installed more props and set pieces for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida, including a Stranger Things food booth. The scare zones announced so far are Infernal Carnival of Nightmares, Sideshow of Decay, Downtown Clowntown, and FORTNITEMARES.
Entry Sign
Guests will now see the black-and-red Halloween Horror Nights sign at the front of the park. It is hung on a truss with speakers and stage lights. This will act as the entrance to the event.
Hollywood: Sideshow of Decay
We’ve seen more and more carnival-esque props show up in the Hollywood area for the Sideshow of Decay scare zone. In our last update, the above stage area was still surrounded by gates, so we weren’t able to see all of the elements near the bottom of the stage. Additional signage has also gone up, such as The Man Eater and Magic Maker signs seen on the right side of the stage area.
After some creepy clown props were installed on the Hollywood street, we speculated this could be the Infernal Carnival of Nightmares scare zone. However, with the stages and sets, we can confidently say this will be Sideshow of Decay.
This stage will display the “Absurd” and “Weird.” There’s a pair of dirty clown heads, one smiling and the other frowning.
Nearby is a broken-down carnival ride car with a giant cat face on the front. It sits among other broken and dirty props like barrels and a large bullseye. Fake birds sit among the props.
The scare zone also includes a knock-down game, a large “35” sign (the number of the event), and piles of costumes.
New York: Downtown Clowntown
The New York section of the park also features colorful clown theming for Downtown Clowntown starring Art the Clown and Killer Klowns From Outer Space. After the scare zone was announced, the “Clowntown” signage was revealed at the scare zone entrances.
“Clown” is on a giant light-up arrow with “Town” on a board affixed to the bottom.
New York: Infernal Carnival of Nightmares
Also in the New York area will be Infernal Carnival of Nightmares featuring Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow, who also star in their own haunted house.
Newly installed is the above Grand Carnival traveling wagon. The wagon is blue with weathered gold detailing around the roof and window.
The signage at the back has an old photo of a woman bowing and the words “Dr. Oddfellow’s Grand Carnival.”
A stage without other signage or telling elements has also been installed here. Given the presence of two completely different tents, one red and gold and the other silver and blue, it will be where Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow appear.
The stage is right outside the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store.
Food Booths
We also spotted a few food booths in place for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. These are both located near the Jaws bathrooms.
One of the food booths is WSQK, the radio station from Stranger Things. It is made to look like the simple radio station building the kids hang out in in Hawkins. It is purple and blue with tendrils or vines throughout.
Meetz Meats is back again with what will likely be more gruesome eats and treats for guests. Meetz Meats and its mascot Meaty Meetz were introduced for 2009’s Leave It To Cleaver house. The butcher was reportedly the most popular in Carey, Ohio, due to their unconventional ingredients. We see Meaty Meetz on the top righthand side of the cleaver sign.
In 2022, this location served things like Spoiled Bear Meat, Brains, and Freshly Ground Princess.
