The City of St. Pete Beach has announced Adam Poirrier as its new fire chief.
Poirrier, who has been with the city for more than ten years and previously served as Deputy Fire Chief, will be promoted to chief on Aug. 3.
St. Pete Beach’s former Fire Chief Jim Kilpatrick retired last month after 24 years of service.
One of Poirrier’s responsibilities as chief will include oversight of the ongoing construction of Fire Station 22. The new station will replace the one damaged during the 2024 Hurricane Season.
Poirrier will also continue in his role as Assistant City Manager, which he has held for the last 18 months.
“I am deeply honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve as Fire Chief,” Poirrier said in a statement. “Our focus will remain on providing the highest level of service to our residents and visitors, supporting our firefighters and EMS professionals, and ensuring St. Pete Beach remains a safe, prepared, and resilient community.”
Poirrier has more than 25 years of experience in the fire service. He holds a Master of Public Administration from Troy University and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program.
