SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are monitoring threats for excessively heavy rainfall Friday and Saturday across Southwest Florida.
There is a low-end risk for excessive rainfall across Southwest Florida on Saturday. This does not mean rain will be widespread. Instead, a few slow-moving storms could produce heavy rainfall and lead to localized flooding.
Saturday
Plan for the chance of a few showers and storms during your Saturday morning plans. Scattered showers and storms (40% coverage) will continue through the midday and afternoon hours. By late afternoon and evening, most of the rain will shift eastward toward our inland communities. Afternoon high temperatures will remain near 90 degrees.
Sunday
A few showers (20% coverage) will be possible Sunday morning, with rain increasing in coverage through the late morning and midday hours. Scattered showers and storms (50% coverage) will continue into the afternoon.
While the greatest coverage will shift east of I-75, isolated showers will still develop along the coast throughout the day. High temperatures will top out in the lower 90s.
