• If you are a person who is usually running late to appointments or meetings, you are doing it purposely even if you pretend it’s accidental. It’s likely that you are inconveniencing every person who comes in after you. Please do better about how you impact others.
• Construction at Jordan Avenue and Winegard Road in Orlando started at the end of May and now it is the end of July. School starts very soon and if this project isn’t completed before then, it will be a traffic nightmare.
• Why is the Orlando budget gained from tourism spent on things that don’t benefit the residents of Orlando? Like such a huge art budget? Maybe rather than have so many Christmas lights on Lake Eola, focus on infrastructure and preventing fighting in downtown. Maybe then more people will actually come to downtown at other times than Christmas.
• I hate to admit it, but I think I’ve just reached a new unwelcome milepost on my journey through life. This summer, I suddenly realized that for the first time ever, I’d rather be supervising the yard work to be done on my property than actually be engaged doing it myself.
The flip side
• Thanks to Orange County for repaving the bike trails on the east side of town. The smooth pavement makes my daily bike rides a pleasure.
