James M. ‘Jimmy’ Orlando

OBITUARY

James M. “Jimmy” Orlando, 78, of Hazle Township passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, surrounded by the loving members of his family.

Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Dana (Scarcella) and James “Coach” Orlando. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lorraine Boyarski and Carol Oliver.

Jimmy was a graduate of Hazleton High School, Class of 1967, and received an associate degree in architectural design from Luzerne County Community College. He began his career as a draftsman and later worked as a business developer for American Training Service. He then served as a construction manager for Pedriani Homes for 35 years, building over 1,200 residential homes in Northeast PA, followed by five years as an independent contractor – a career built on craftsmanship, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Jimmy loved being with family and friends and enjoyed golfing. He was a loving father who found his greatest joy in his grandchildren – his pride and joy were attending all of their sports and extracurricular activities, and his eyes lit up whenever one of them walked into the room.
