TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Leon County first responders and public safety groups are helping make sure kids are prepared for the upcoming school year with school supply drives.
Leon County EMS, LCSO, TPD, TFD and The Council on the Status of Men and Boys all teamed up to cover different Walmarts in the city.
TPD was at the Walmart on Thomasville Road for a Pack the Patrol car event accepting all kinds of school supply donations.

Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell says all supplies donated are going to kids in need.
“Help us park the patrol car with school supplies for kids,” Revell says. “We give those to a variety of different agencies here in the community and then they distribute them out to the kids who are in need of the supplies.”
Revell says these events help strengthen their ties to kids because they get to see police outside of their uniforms and in the community.
