VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Snapchat connection turned into a nightmare for a Florida teen after the 27-year-old stranger stalked her, showed up at her home, and fired shots in her yard.
According to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, Joseph William Danger Woodard met the 16-year-old girl through Snapchat before showing up at her home twice; once Thursday and again Friday.
Investigators said the teen refused to let Woodard inside both times. On Friday, she was asleep when she woke up to the sound of a rattling window and saw Woodard outside.
Deputies say when the girl opened the door to show Woodard she was calling for help, he put his foot in the doorway. She was still able to close the door.

Moments later, investigators say Woodard fired multiple rounds into the ground outside the home before leaving in a red Toyota hatchback.
Deputies reportedly located the suspect vehicle about 22 minutes later, roughly 11 miles from the scene, traveling north on State Road 11 toward Flagler County.
Authorities say they stopped the vehicle just north of State Road 11 and State Road 40 and detained Woodard, despite what deputies described as resistance.
Inside the vehicle, deputies say they found two 9mm handguns, about 350 rounds of ammunition, six Glock pistol magazines, and seven spent shell casings. Another spent shell casing was found in the driveway of the home.
Woodard was arrested for multiple felony counts, including stalking, armed trespassing, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, discharging a firearm on residential property, and resisting.
He is being held without bond on the firearm discharge from a vehicle charge, according to court records.
