MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A local business sustained significant interior damage Saturday night following a commercial structure fire on Gulf Breeze Parkway.
First responders with the Midway Fire District were dispatched to 98 Treasures, located at 3040 Gulf Breeze Parkway, at approximately 8:04 p.m. on Aug. 1. The dispatch followed a 911 call reporting smoke billowing from the building.
Fire crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke showing from the structure and immediately declared a working fire. Crews quickly made entry into the building with handlines, locating the main body of the fire burning in the ceiling area.
An aggressive interior attack was launched to suppress the flames, while support personnel simultaneously ventilated the roof to clear smoke and improve interior visibility. Thanks to the rapid response, firefighters brought the fire under control before it could spread to adjacent areas of the structure.
No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Multiple area agencies assisted Midway Fire District during the response, including the Holley-Navarre Fire District, the Avalon Beach-Mulat Fire Department, and Santa Rosa County C.E.R.T., which provided firefighter rehabilitation and hydration.
