ORLANDO, Fla. — The Lake Mary Little League Girls Softball Team won its opener in the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, N.C. 14-0.
The team, representing the Southeast Region, played Washington (representing the Northwest Region) and it was a 10-run rule victory.
Lake Mary pitcher Chloe Cheek had seven strikeouts and only gave up two hits. Washington had four baserunners.
Catcher Avery Little had 3 hits in 3 at-bats.
