Rays trade for 2-time All-Star Freddy Peralta, per MLB.com

TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Rays are acquiring Freddy Peralta, a two-time All-Star starting pitcher, from the New York Mets, according to MLB.com.

After eight seasons in Milwaukee, Peralta has struggled since signing with the Mets.

He currently carries a 4.99 ERA over 113.2 innings in 2026, just one season after posting a 2.70 ERA in 2025.

The Rays are sending prospects outfielder Aidan Smith, pitcher Gary Gill Hill and second baseman Émilien Pitre to the Mets, according to MLB.com.

Neither team has confirmed the trade.
