The Lunch with an Author series at the Key Biscayne Community Center recently featured long time Island resident Manuel Cambó talking on the subject of autism and reading excerpts from his new children’s book, “Una carta sobre Michael” (A Letter About Michael).

Written as a tribute to a nephew born with autism, the inspiring story highlights the courage of impacted families. Approximately 40 people attended the event.

“Manny did a great job explaining how autism affects families, especially the siblings,” Rose Haney said.

All net proceeds from sales of the book, which was illustrated by Sergio Kechu Slepczuk, will be donated to the South Florida Autism Charter School in Hialeah, Florida. The book can be purchased at Amazon, Walmart and other online retailers.
