Pigsty BBQ moves into The Bungalow
A Boynton Beach barbecue restaurant will be back in business at a new location in the city later this month after closing at its place of 10 years.
Tom Rhodemyre, the co-owner of Pigsty, announced during the last day at the location on July 26 that he had found a new place just 1 1/2 miles away.
“See you August 26th The Bungalow at Boynton Beach! We’re taking over the food there with a new menu! Some things are staying and some aren’t ..a little reinventing! Enjoy some bbq and enjoy live music! We’re excited for the next chapter and need your continued support!! Stay tuned!”

The Bungalow Bar & Grill, which features Key West-themed live music, is located at 511 NE Fourth St. in downtown Boynton Beach near the Intracoastal Waterway.
Pigsty BBQ took to Facebook on July 6 to announce the closure, citing a changing economy as well as ongoing road and parking lot construction.
The restaurant was located in a shopping plaza at West Boynton Beach Boulevard and Northwest Eighth Street. The standalone place originally opened in 2016.
“Our regulars have become like family to us, and it’s a passion,” Rhodemyre told WPBF’s John Perik before the closing.

Just steps away from the business, a multimillion-dollar project is underway by the Florida Department of Transportation to revitalize Boynton Beach Boulevard and Highway 804.

“It’s been chaos out on Boynton Beach Boulevard,” Rhodemyre said. “I’ve had Uber Eats drivers cancel pickups because they can’t figure out how to get into the plaza.”
The project includes a new bike path and sidewalk, but as a result, it’s made it difficult for customers to access the entrance to the plaza where Pigsty BBQ is located.
“Where it says ‘business entrance’ pointing this way, there’s two signs that say, ‘Do Not Enter’ facing outward,” Rhodemyre said.
Other businesses in the plaza voiced similar concerns to WPBF.
The owners emphasized that they are grateful for their customers and the support they have received.
