MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A scooter rider was hospitalized Monday morning after riding his scooter on the wrong side of the road, resulting in him being struck by a vehicle, authorities said.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported at about 6:05 a.m. at the intersection of Northwest 17th Avenue and 79th Street.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue medics transported the victim to a nearby hospital. His condition has not been released.
Deputies said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
The investigation continues.
