JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A Jacksonville man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he operated illegal video gaming machines where money was wagered.
Brandon David Homer, 28, was arrested Monday, Aug. 3, following an investigation by North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement’s District 1 office in Jacksonville.
Homer is charged with gambling, operating or possessing a slot machine, manufacturing or selling a slot machine and operating a video gaming machine.
Charging documents allege Homer operated slot machines that allowed players to receive money, credit or other items of value. The alleged offenses occurred May 22, and the charges were filed July 24.
Court documents list Homer as an employee of Area 51 Tobacco and Vape.
Homer was taken to the Onslow County Jail and made his first court appearance Monday.
