TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – On the Highest of Seven Hills, there was a different feel in the air Monday for the Rattlers as Florida A&M practiced in shells for the first time.
Head coach Quinn Gray said he got to see some more physicality from his team, a necessary step in continuing to evaluate this team.
First scrimmage is Saturday, and until then, things are still day by day. The Rattlers are staying on campus at Sampson Hall, and being together all the time, even out of practice makes this time crucial in building an identity for this team.
“Helping them understand and getting to know each other on a better or a deeper level is what we’re trying to do and it’s starting to form in the way that we want it to be,” he said. “Everyday we share stories from each and every player. They’ve volunteered to share their stories to get to know each other and helping each other to understand who we are and what we’ve been through will definitely help us on Saturdays when adversity strikes and how they understand how their teammates react.”
Coach said the guys will stay in the dorms for the next week and half. Their first scrimmage is Saturday.
