TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man was arrested after allegedly stabbing another man multiple times with a box cutter, according to arrest documents.
Arrest papers show John McClendon is charged with attempted murder.
On July 30, officers responded to the scene of a reported stabbing near Jakes and Patterson St. The victim told police McClendon had been arguing with him at a nearby restaurant, according to arrest papers.

The victim said McClendon followed him down the street before pulling out a box cutter and stabbing him from behind, documents show. The victim said he was eventually able to take the box cutter and use it to defend himself.
According to arrest documents, the victim sustained seven stab wounds and marks during the incident. McClendon also received several injuries, including stab wounds.
When speaking with McClendon, he told officers he bought a beer at a nearby gas station before he was followed by the victim, according to arrest papers. McClendon said the victim followed him and threw a brick at his back. He also told officers he was opening a cup of noodles with the box cutter and the victim stole it and started stabbing him, documents show.

Arrest papers say McClendon told officers he did not stab the victim and did not know how the victim sustained his injuries.
Court documents show, at the time of the alleged stabbing, McClendon had two active warrants for felony battery.
He was placed under arrest while at the hospital being treated for his injuries before being taken to the Leon County Jail.
