Want to represent your Key Biscayne neighbors by helping to set policy as a member of the Village Council?

“The pay is lousy,” once quipped Ed London, who is being termed out of his two-term, eight-year run on the volunteer board of elected officials.

Three seats are up for grabs, including those of Oscar Sardiñas and Fernando Vazquez, both of whom are eligible to run again this November.

There will not be a mayoral election since Brett Moss is running unopposed and will take over for Mayor Joe Rasco after the Nov. 3 general election.

To be eligible, residency in Key Biscayne for at least one year is mandatory.

The qualifying period for the Council seat role begins at noon, on Monday, Aug. 10 and ends at noon, on Thursday, Aug. 20.

All candidates must complete the filing of their qualifying paperwork with the Village Clerk before the close of the qualifying period. There is a $100 entry fee.
