
This week on The Big Gay Radio Show, Chris Gorman, Esmé Russell, and Bryan Hinkson welcomed Rev. Mark Ferreira and Mia Oates from Metropolitan Community Church of Tampa to discuss the church’s 55th anniversary and its legacy as the oldest LGBTQIA+ organization in Tampa Bay.
Rev. Ferreira and Oates reflected on MCC Tampa’s history, the role the church has played in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community over the past five decades, and what attendees can expect during the upcoming 55th Anniversary Celebration.
The team also discussed several stories making headlines, including a Florida evangelist removed from a flight after preaching during a delay, Capital One closing Trump Organization bank accounts, a man who died after a portable toilet fell from a truck, President Donald Trump’s order to install warning signs at the Smithsonian, Hobby Lobby’s effort to overturn marriage equality, Nicki Minaj charging fans to access X content, Alex Jones calling for President Trump’s impeachment, and other stories affecting the LGBTQIA+ community in Tampa Bay and beyond.
