A Winter Haven pastor is charged with three felony counts of lewd battery of a minor
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested 42-year-old Timothy Chaneyfield. He is a pastor at St. James United American Free Will Baptist Church in Winter Haven. He told detectives that he is also a chaplain for Compassionate Care Hospice of Lakeland.

Frontrunners for Florida governor get state funds
The Republican and Democratic gubernatorial frontrunners continue to be the top recipients of state money for their campaigns. Democrat David Jolly, a former member of Congress, picked up nearly $73,000 dollars and Republican Congress member Byron Donalds received almost $60,000 on Friday in the third round of public financing for the 2026 election cycle. Jolly has now received nearly $1.6 million from the funding program and Donalds nearly $790,000. Republican Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins is the only other gubernatorial candidate to receive the funds..
