August 4, 2026 – A developer has proposed replacing Clearwater’s 77-acre Landings Golf Course with a $180 million sports and entertainment complex featuring athletic fields, pickleball courts, aquatic attractions and restaurants. Rather than move forward with the proposal, city staff is recommending officials seek competing bids before selecting a development partner. The project would transform one of the city’s largest recreational properties into a regional sports tourism destination if approved.
