Miranda Kerr has shared a rare look into co-parenting with ex-husband Orlando Bloom, admitting he’s “like a brother” to her.

The Aussie supermodel, 43, who separated from the Hollywood actor, 49, in 2013, opened up about their unique relationship and the decision they made as co-parents “from day one”.

“It’s obviously not easy when you’re separating,” Kerr looked back at her divorce with host Kristin Cavallari on her Let’s Be Honest podcast on Wednesday.

“And there’s always a level of hurt even if you both know it’s for the right reasons. So there’s always a level of hurt both ways I would say in any separation.”

But from the get-go, the exes prioritised being the best parents they could to their now 15-year-old son Flynn.

The most important thing they learned is to put the “needs of the child first” and question, “What is in the best interest of Flynn?”

“And that was really our guidepost for any decision,” she explained. “Through that, we’ve known each other for a long time, we’ve developed such a good friendship that he’s just part of the family.”

“He’s like a brother, you know? So we have that,” said the mum-of-four.

The former Victoria’s Secret angel shares three more sons with her husband of nine years, billionaire Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel, 36.

The couple, who live a private life in Los Angeles, share three boys: Hart, eight, Myles, six, and Pierre, two.

Being a “boy mum” in her 40s, Kerr revealed most weekends in Kerr-Spiegel household are dedicated to LEGO building, being outdoors and playing pickleball.

She revealed on the podcast that Sundays are for “family time”, which include family walks, church and brunch with her husband’s parents.

And if they have time, between the two major businesses they run, date night just for the two of them.

Kerr and Spiegel met 12 years ago and have been married for nine years.

The couple tied the knot in May 2017 in an intimate backyard ceremony at Spiegel’s home in Los Angeles, with just 30 people in attendance.

Before Spiegel, Kerr was married to Pirates of the Caribbean actor Orlando Bloom.

Kerr and Bloom welcomed their son Flynn during their three-year marriage from 2010 to 2013. They were together for a total of six years.
