ORLANDO, Fla. – Police in Orlando have arrested a person in connection with the death of a four-year-old child at an Orlando apartment complex last month.
Brandon McCloud, 18, was arrested Wednesday.
McCloud is facing a charge of manslaughter for the July 17 shooting at Stella West Apartments on Bent Willow Circle, off Silver Star Road. That’s where a four-year-old child was found shot. She was taken to an area hospital, where she died.

Police say McCloud was handling a gun in a “careless manner,” which led to the shooting.
The shooting was concerning for residents worried about safety amid a lack of answers. Orlando police called the case “complex” and said they were working around the clock to conduct a thorough investigation.
OPD said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
